Saddam Hussein offered asylum

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers.

Interesting stuff. Circumstantial as to actual alliance between the two, but still, this idea that we've always known for a fact that Saddam wouldn't cooperate on some level with al Qaeda is just wrong.
