Returning to the cave.
It occurs to this observer, how does one broaden one's life if one always invariably returns to the safety of the cave?
One doesn't maximize one's potential by always minimizing one's life. Yet, when one's best problem-solving control mechanism is to minimize, the results are predictable.
It could be better. I know it can be, because I've tasted it. It just can't be better on my own. I'm not wired that way. So, minimized life it is.
