Dr. Donald Liu died a hero and a man
Dr. Don Liu, a top pediatric surgeon, died saving 2 children (not his own) from drowning in Lake Michigan while on vacation with his family.
He was born in Flushing. I wonder if he went to Stuy? He's a fellow Taiwanese American and reminds me somewhat of Dean Chen.
Dr. Liu had a lot left to offer in life as a teacher, doctor, and father. He knowingly risked his life to save children in danger and he succeeded in rescuing them at the cost of his own. Donald Liu completed his life with a selfless brave act and an honorable man's death. A worthy death - an enviable good death. I'm proud of you, Doctor. Rest in peace.
