Medal of Honor awarded to USMC Corporal Jason Dunham

USMC Corporal Jason Dunham of Scio, New York will receive the second Medal Of Honor awarded for Operation Iraqi Freedom. Read about him here and here.

The first Medal of Honor in OIF was awarded to Army Sergeant First Class Paul Smith. Like SFC Smith's, Cpl Dunham's MoH was post-humous.

In my generation, the contrast between our heroes who have served "over there" and those of us who have stayed home is stark. Cpl Dunham's honor is a reminder of all our other heroes who have given their "last full measure of devotion" in this war, such as Army Lieutenants Nainoa Hoe and Ben Colgan.
